OFTALMOLOGIA - GLASSES AND LENSES
Glasses (near, far, bifocals, progressive, with sunscreens) do not usually pose a problem for people with minor refractive defects or do not need to use them permanently.
Contact lenses can be hard, rigid, gas permeable and soft. Hard lenses are currently used very little. Rigid gas permeable lenses are, in general, the least harmful to the eye, since they are the most permeable to oxygen.
They can correct astigmatisms better than soft ones. Soft lenses, more comfortable than the previous ones, may occasionally have intolerances after a variable period of use.
IMPORTANCE OF VISUAL HEALTH
The first exam, after birth, is done by the pediatrician, who will be the person in charge of verifying your baby�s visual health up to 6 months, then it should be done when the doctor considers it convenient the complete vision test to rule out some type of problem advanced, this must be done before 3 years.
Then, with the growth and the results of the previous exams you will have to take your child annually to a visual health exam, there they will discard any type of complication, if your child has any problem in the exams during the first age you will have to take preventive measures before other diseases and ensure the care and improvement of your vision.
Remember that any visual complication in the first years of development may increase over time and become a problem in the short or long term.
